TILT # 49 - Don't own someone else's pain

Some days, no matter what you offer
It will be rejected
It will be trampled on
It will be twisted
Misunderstood
Deemed irrelevant, useless, senseless, wrong
Some days, that is because of you – you weren’t listening, you made assumptions, it was you.
Other days, that is because “the other” was in pain
And it was easier for them to reject you
Trample on you
Twist what you said
Misunderstand you
Pronounce your offering irrelevant, useless, senseless, wrong
On those days when the pain thrown at you is because “the other” was in pain
Remember to only carry what is yours
If you have no true optimism to offer then
Wish them well on their journey towards healing BUT
Do not own their pain that has nothing to do with you
Life is hard and heavy enough
Reject the lie that it is your job to save the world
To save your world
It isn’t
It isn’t!
You teach others how to treat you by the abuse you tolerate
Do no harm but take no shit!
